Start of the 2021-2022 School Year

A MESSAGE FROM ST MARY’S: REGARDING COVID / SCHOOL START

The 2021-2022 school year is scheduled to begin on Friday, August 13, 2021 and we are very excited to get started. However, as many of you are aware, Vietnam is currently experiencing a significant outbreak of COVID-19 and Hanoi is now under Directive 17. Due to the current situation, we believe it is unlikely that our students will be allowed on school grounds on August 13.

We will continue to monitor the situation and work with our local government officials to determine when students can return to campus for face-to-face instruction. On July 30, 2021, we will make a decision between the following:

  • Face-to-face: if we receive information that students may be permitted to return to school campuses on Friday, August 13, 2021, we will provide plans for face-to-face orientation on Friday, August 13.
  • Online Learning: if we do not receive information that students will be allowed to return to school campuses, we will make the decision to begin the school year with our online program.

If we make the decision to begin the year with our online learning program, we will delay the start of school for one week (the start date will change from August 13 to August 23) to prepare for successful online learning. While we would prefer to be able to be together safely as a school community, we are confident that we have a quality, engaging and meaningful program for our students based on best practices and research conducted on successful online learning programs.

We hope you are all doing well and staying safe during these challenging times.
