As in the international community, while English is our language of instruction, it is not always the first language of our students. In order to support the learning needs of our English language learners and enrich the language development of our fluent English speakers, St. Mary’s provides English Studies Classes as a part of our regular curriculum. English Studies Classes focus on grade-level vocabulary, academic English, and English language skill-building. In these classes, students are provided with differentiated instruction based on their individual needs and ability levels, to ensure they are understanding and developing their English language abilities at the same level as their grade-level peers.

In addition to English Studies Classes, students requiring additional assistance are provided with push-in support in their other academic classes or individual targeted learning sessions to focus on more general needs.

All of our English Studies Classes and English Language Support are provided at no additional cost to our families.
